How I Ranked #1 On Google

Hello everyone, Nancy here. I am the owner of this website and it is 2 years old.

Throughout the entire two years my site never ranked anywhere on Google THAT IS, up until April of 2022.

To my lovely and most shocking surprise I discovered it was now ranking number one on Google's search results! It was June 7, 2022 at the time of this posting so all this was still pretty new to me.

My Search Results

Below you will see just a few of my Google search results. I apologize for the quality of the images. My computer's screenshot feature is having a hard time with enlarging small images much clearer at this time.

Just to remind you this website is called My Scrapbooking Mall.

HOW?

And so now you must be wondering what did I do to start ranking on the first page of Google's search results, right? Don't worry, I will let you know – I will explain.

First, I want to let you know what type of website this is. This is an online store and blogging website. In my store I have digital scrapbooking images—And in my blog I write posts about scrapbooking.

In all honesty, back when I first started this website which by this point was around two and a half years ago, although my desire was to rank on the first page of Google's search results,  I never really did any extensive research on how to actually start ranking on the first page of Google's search results. However, I did realize there were several factors that led up to ranking number one. But I was only focusing more on backlinking, my SEO, and Meta Tags and Phrases. This was a more simpler route for me at the time—My purpose in the end was to turn those visitors into purchasing customers, and this, by directing them over to our online store.

Fast track to Late 2021 (September 2021). At this point I wanted to learn what more steps I could take in order to attract an even greater percentage of visitors to my site, and specifically over to my blog. I then began to do some research. I conducted my research on YouTube.

In my research I came across a video with what I believed to have very useful and comprehensive information in it along with instructions.

To make a long story short, I applied the instructions from the video to help out with my traffic. Then, it was only within a few short weeks (7 months to be exact) when suddenly I learned my website was ranking on the first page of Google's search results. Once again, I first learned my site ranked number one 2 months ago from the writing of this post which was on April 2022.

"So What Did You Learn That Got You Ranking Number 1, Nancy?"

Just to remind you that my research was for how to drive more traffic to my blog, not how to make money, and more specifically, it was all related to scrapbooking. Therefore, please note, that you need to do research for how to drive more traffic to your website depending on what type of site you currently have.

The instructions the presenter in the video was giving were very simple. They explained that in order to drive traffic to your blog, you need to first find out what types of questions people out there are asking about your particular item, product, or service–What types of questions are showing up in Google's search results as they relate to YOUR product in particular.

Basically, whatever questions are being asked about your particular product or services is what you should be blogging about.

Or in other words, create blog posts that answer the questions that people out there are asking about your product or services. As a result, you will be providing solutions to someone's problem. This way, you will help start driving more traffic over to your blog.

So, 7 months after I first started to follow these steps, my website began to rank on the first page of Google's search results. This may sound like a very long time, but it sure was worth all the hard work and wait. Thank You Father! Prrraaise The Lord!!

As of the writing of this post my online store had not yet started making any sales. However, since my site had only just started to rank on the first page of Google's search results, the money–making part of this journey will not be overnight. But at this point it will definitely be happening—It is only a matter of time.

NEXT STEP: In order to help speed things up with the money–making part, at this time I have been applying steps for monetization.

Monetizing can be done through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you earn a commission from advertising another company's ad on your website.

You acquire these types of ads from affiliate marketing websites. I get my ads from CLIXGALORE and IMPACT.COM. It is free to become an Affiliate.

When you are signing up to become an Affiliate, on the form you are filling out you may see other tittles such as merchants, advertisers, etc.. Since you only want to feature ads on your website, you must only select Affiliate. Anything else might not be free so just make sure to select affiliate. NOTE..if you choose to join Impact.com, make sure to select PARTNER. After this, you may then be given other instructions which would then also involve you selecting the term Affiliate.

IMPORTANT: WHERE TO POST YOUR AFFILIATE ADS

It is very important to know where to post your affiliate ads. You need to post them onto the blog posts where you are receiving the most visitors or traffic. Therefore, once your website starts to rank on the first page of google's search results it's best to place your ads onto those articles that are receiving the highest levels of traffic. If you post the ads within articles that are barely receiving any traffic your chances of getting commissions for those ads is super low. So, post the ads within the articles receiving the most traffic.

WHAT TYPES OF ADS ARE SUITABLE FOR MY BLOG?

The types of ads that are suitable for your blog posts all depends on what the topic is for your article at the time. For example, if your blog site is about woodworking, and you wrote an article about how to treat wood, you might want to find an ad that's related to the care of wood.

If your blog site is about cooking, and you wrote an article about how to cook a large turkey bird, you might want to find an ad for a series of different spices. Now you know how to select the appropriate ads for the articles you are writing about at the time.

Google Snippets

During my research on how to drive more traffic to my blog I also learned about something called Google Snippets. Funny–enough after learning more on what Google Snippets were, I discovered it was something I had already been doing right from the very start of my blogging. This most assuredly came as a big relief to me.

Google Snippets have to do with the way you are structuring your articles in your blog posts in order to grab Google's attention enough to rank it on its first page (don't worry it's not hard! it's super easy!). I invite you to watch the video in the link below to learn more about Google Snippets: We Ranked #1 On Google in 3 Weeks {Here's How}.
