What is The Purpose of Scrapbooking? – Kids & Adults

The purpose of scrapbooking is to capture your favourite moments through photo–story–telling laid out in albums for yourself, families and generations still yet to come.

Scrapbooking is a very therapeutic activity. It actually reduces stress. Whenever you are doing an enjoyable craft like scrapbooking, your brain releases the feel–good hormones called endorphins. Endorphins are your body's natural way to lift away stress and bless you with a cup of joy instead! Especially during these times of lockdowns and financial insecurities.

Below is a bulleted list of an explanation and examples on the purposes for scrapbooking.

• Scrapbooking is a craft that can be enjoyed by the entire family no matter what their age. Children, parents, Grandparents, Great Aunts and Uncles can enjoy scrapbooking. The list is endless.
• Children can put together a photo story of a person very special to them such as a Grandfather or Uncle in their scrapbook. Or, they can even document a story of a new instrument that they just learned how to play.
• Parents can put together scrapbook pages of events like the birth of a child, an anniversary, or a birthday party.
• Grandparents can put together scrapbook pages of their favourite moments spent while away visiting with their grandchildren, or of the birth of a grandbaby.
• Uncles, Aunts, Great Uncles and Aunts can put together scrapbooking pages of special moments spent during a family reunion that may have taken place.
• Cousins and in–laws can put together scrapbook pages of a celebratory event or concert that they attended along with photos of the new friends that they may have made while there too.

And so, therefore, you now have a more clear picture on the purposes of scrapbooking. You are bringing to life moments in certain times of your life through photo–story–telling.
