In today's world of scrapbooking there have been an array of tools invented for the activity of scrapbooking.

Such tools as die–cutting and embossing. Cutting mats. Paper punches that produce different sizes and shapes like hearts, squares, circles, stars, snowflakes, etc.. Photo transfers, stamps and ink pads. Sticker machines, stencils and templates, and the list goes on. These tools are not cheap and they are normally acquired by people who have been scrapbooking for years.

Very simply put, scrapbooking can be described as a manner or way of conserving your history through photos in photo albums. They are arranged or laid out in such a way where they are telling a story for any particular time that happened in your life or the lives of your family and friends.

For example, you can use photos of a wedding, birthday party, or of a special reunion that took place in your life to tell a story of what those moments meant to you.
